WHERE TO PLANT SIBERIAN IRISSiberian irises thrive in full sun conditions and in well-drained soil. Soggy soil will promote root rot. These perennials will eventually develop into large blooming clumps over a few years so allow a space 15-20" across for when your irises mature. Siberian irises do best in soil that has some humus. With that in mind. feel free to add some compost. decomposed manure or leaf mold if your soil is lean or sandy side. HOW TO PLANT SIBERIAN IRISThese plants can sometimes struggle in the hot. dry climates. Siberian irises also do well in somewhat acidic soils although this is not a requirement for success. Install each plant. with the roots fanned slightly and pointing downwards. into a hole 3-5" deep. The point where the fan and the roots join should be 1-2" below soil level. Keep soil moist. but not soggy. while plants are establishing. A mulch of organic material helps keep Siberian iris roots cool and the surrounding soil slightly moist. HOW TO CARE FOR SIBERIAN IRISAt the end of the season. trim out any seed pods that may have formed. If the seed should set. the resulting plants are typically unlike the parents. Iris foliage should be trimmed to 2" in late fall.

Shipping >>Worldwide Express Shipping Available   50 Pcs RARE MEXICAN HAT SEEDS   Description:Aptly named. this popular wildflower sports bright red and yellow petals beneath the tall center cone. This perennial is a native of the Great Plains. and so does well in hot. dry conditions. Native coneflowers have a reputation for establishing themselves in soil that few other plants would tolerate. They have a long-lived persistence. and also attract butterflies and songbirds. English naturalist Thomas Nuttall first documented this species on one of his many expeditions throughout western America. The Latin name "columnifera" means "column." referring to the prominent center of each blossom. Sowing: Direct sow in late fall. pressing into the surface of the soil since this plant needs light to germinate. For spring planting. mix the seeds with moist sand and store in the refrigerator for 30 days before planting. Keep the soil lightly moist until germination. which usually takes 3-4 weeks. The seeds can also be started indoors 8-10 weeks before planting in spring. Keep seedlings lightly moist. and transplant them as soon as they have developed several leaves. Growing: Water seedlings regularly until they become established. and control weeds. When grown from seed. these plants usually begin blooming in their second year. Mature plants tolerate drought well and flourish in fairly dry soil. though they will benefit from occasional watering in dry weather. The blooming period tends to be longer with occasional watering. Mature plants can be divided every 2-3 years for healthy growth. This plant attracts butterflies and repels deer. as well as growing well in rocky. sandy. or clay soil. It makes an excellent choice for hot. dry areas. Harvesting: For cut flowers. choose stems with flowers that have just opened. Strip the foliage that will fall below the water level. and place in water immediately. Seed Saving: After the petals fall from the blossom. the cone will darken and develop ripe seed. As soon as the seed turns nearly black and can be rubbed loose from the cone. cut the ripe cones from the plant and spread them to dry. Thresh the plant material to separate the seed from the stems. Store the seed in a cool. dry place.   4 GREAT REASONS TO BUY FROM US Our Guarantee  We truly believe we carry some of the most innovative products in the world. and we want to make sure we back that up with a risk-free 90-day guarantee.  If you don't have a positive experience for ANY reason. we will do WHATEVER it takes to make sure you are 100% satisfied with your purchase.  Buying items online can be a daunting task. so we want you to realize that there are absolutely ZERO risks in buying something and trying it out.  If you don't like it. no hard feelings we'll make it right.  We have 24/7/365 Ticket and Email Support. Make Your Seed to Garden 1. Choose the right containers You can start seeds in almost any type of container. as long as it's at least 2-3 ” deep and has some drainage holes. If you love to DIY by yourself. you might start growing seedlings in yogurt cups. milk cartons or even a paper cup. 2. The “potting soil” Choose the potting soil that's made for growing seedlings. NOTE: Do not use soil from your garden or re-use potting soil from your houseplants. Start with a fresh. sterile mix that will ensure healthy. disease-free seedlings. 3. Planting Some of the small ones can be sprinkled right on the soil surface. Larger seeds will need to be buried. After planting seeds. you have to moisten the newly planted seeds. To speed up germination. cover the pots with wet paper or a plastic dome. This helps keep the seeds moist before they germinate. When you see the first signs of green. you have to remove the cover. 4. Watering. feeding. repeating As the seedlings grow up. you have to keep the soil moist but not soggy. Let the soil dry slightly between waterings.  Remember to feed the seedlings regularly with liquid fertilizer. 5. Light Seeds need a lot of light. Set the lights on a timer for 15 hours a day. If you're growing in a window. choose a south-facing exposure. Rotate the pots regularly to keep plants from leaning into the light. If you're growing under lights. adjust them so they're just a few inches above the tops of the seedlings.  Keep in mind that seedlings need darkness. too. so they can rest. As the seedlings grow taller. raise the lights. 6. Move to outdoors  It's not a good idea to move your seedlings directly from the protected environment of your home into the garden. You've been coddling these seedlings for weeks. so they need a gradual transition to the great outdoors. About a week before you plan to set the seedlings into the garden. place them in a protected spot outdoors (partly shaded. out of the wind) for a few hours. bringing them in at night. Gradually. over the course of a week or 10 days. expose them to more and more sunshine and wind. A cold frame is a great place to harden off plants.

Milkweeds are crucial to the monarch's survival. The butterflies lay their eggs on them. and the newly hatched larvae feed on the leaves. Floribunda (W. Kordes & Sons. Germany. 2003) Exceptionally fragrant peony-shaped flowers opening from dark pink buds. Foliage is bright glossy green. The form is upright and the plant typically is about 3 feet tall and 2.5 feet wide. This old-fashioned rose has an unusual fruity top note: the first impression is of lemon. and sparkles like a fine note of champagne. ROSE SEED GERMINATION STEPSBefore growing roses from seed. the rose seeds need to go through a period of cold moist storage called “stratification” before they will sprout. Plant the rose bush seeds approximately ¼ inch (0.5 cm.) deep in a seed-planting mix in seedling trays or your own planting trays. The trays need not be more than 3 to 4 inches (7.5 to 10 cm.) deep for this use. When planting rose seeds from various rose bush hips. I use a separate tray for each different group of seeds and label the trays with that rose bush's name and planting date. The planting mix should be very moist but not soaking wet. Seal each tray or container in a plastic bag and place them in the refrigerator for 10 to 12 weeks. The next step in how to grow roses from seed is to sprout the rose seeds. After having gone through their “stratification” time. take the containers out of the refrigerator and into a warm environment of around 70 F. (21 C.). I do my best to time this for early spring when the seedlings would normally be coming out of their cold cycle (stratification) outside and starting to. Once in the proper warm environment. the rose bush seeds should start to sprout. The rose bush seeds will usually continue to sprout over the course of two to three weeks. but probably only 20 to 30 percent of the rose seeds planted will actually sprout. Once the rose seeds sprout. carefully transplant the rose seedlings into other pots. It is extremely important not to touch the roots during this process! A spoon may be used for this seedling transfer phase to help keep from touching the roots. Feed the seedlings with half-strength fertilizer and be sure they have plenty of light once they start to grow. The use of a grow light system works very well for this phase of the rose propagation process. The use of a fungicide on the growing rose seeds will help keep fungal diseases from attacking the rose seedlings at this vulnerable time. Do not over-water the rose seedlings; over-watering is a major killer of seedlings. Provide a lot of light as well as good air circulation to the rose seedlings to avoid disease and pests. If disease does set in on some of them. it is probably best to eliminate them and keep only the hardiest of the rose seedlings. The time it takes for the new roses to actually flower can vary greatly so be patient with your new rose babies. Growing roses from seed can take some time. but you will be rewarded for your efforts.
